Clients and testimonials

Below are some examples of work (recent and some not so recent) which I’ve undertaken either under the guise of Bluekazoo or in earlier days as Saltirecoast Web Design. My clients have ranged from large international companies such as Morrison Shipping down to sole traders such as Kitchen Confidential.

Being an artistic sort in a webby sort of way, I’ve also done sites for artists and milliners. All in all, a very cosmopolitan portfolio.

Morrison Shipping

Morrison ShippingI was initially contracted to create George Morrisons ‘Morrison Tours’ website, detailing the companies shore excursion operation. Bluekazoo carried out all graphic and design work to the clients specification.

Morrisons were very pleased with the work I did on the Tours site and quickly commissioned me to redesign their existing Morrison Shipping site. The shipping site was far more complex and contains a fully amendable stock database.

Morrisons staff can update all the vessels in their stock using the secure administration pages I provided and promote the changes to the live website instantly.

“We enjoyed working with Mark and found his positive and helpful attitude very refreshing. His prompt handling of information and ability to listen to clients comments helped the project move swiftly in the right direction.”

Orsogril UK

Orsogril UKOrsogril are suppliers of steel grating, fencing and louvres for security, screening, multi use games areas, balconies, balustrades, wall cladding, plant housings and floors.

They contacted me because their existing website needed completely redesigned with a functioning backend which allowed them to completely control the information, products and specifications on the site. Working with the excellent Phil Tanner, I carried out the design for the site with Phil doing the backend coding.

Turret Guest House

Turret Guest House

The Turret guest house is a fantastic guest house on the south side of Edinburgh city centre. Jimmy and Fiona Mackie contacted me and asked me to redesign their old website. I like to think the design reflects the classiness of the establishment.

As a result of the work done on the Turret Guest House website, I was asked by the hotel next door to put together some secure administration pages for them. They were happy with their existing design but their designer had no coding experience. Enter Bluekazoo.

Sonja Soyer

Sonja SoyerSonja Soyer is a fantastic Luxembourg based artist. Sonja approached me with a simple brief - that I produce a classy, stylish site which complemented her artwork. Much of Sonja’s work is very dark and atmospheric and as a result I had to ensure that the site was light and colourful enough to accommodate this.

The site can be found at http://www.sonjasoyer.com

“I am extremely happy with the site. I showed it yesterday to some friends and as a follow up they immediately bought the red lady with the golden leaves! If that effect continues, then wow! I didnt expect that at all! Thanks for everything.”

Cafe Love

Cafe Love was the brainchild of Heart FM DJ Paul Hollins.

I was tasked with creating the design and code behind this online speed dating site.Paul wanted to be able to control the site content with regards to events and pricing and in order to do this we created a live update administration back end to enable him to do this. Paul logs into a secure set of admin pages and can add, amend or delete details of upcoming events.

Sadly Paul seems to have decided to wind up Cafe Love and concentrate on other projects.
